A pact is a scope statement
In this system, a pact is not a blank authorization. It names the symbolic function, the operator’s obligation, the duration, the completion criterion and the limits that cannot be crossed.
Do not design operations intended to control another person’s feelings, consent or behavior. Reframe them around the operator’s own perception, communication, boundaries and choices.
Activation
Activation should be brief and reproducible: identify the card, state the question, name the mundane obligation and begin the first real action. Ceremony may support attention, but it does not substitute for the action.
Avoid escalating ritual complexity to compensate for an unclear objective. Rewrite the objective instead.
Recognition and review
Recognition means recording events without declaring them proof. Use an event / interpretation / alternative explanation structure and wait for the scheduled review before changing the contract.
If the operation produces fear, compulsion or unsafe behavior, suspend it. Seek appropriate professional or practical support when the underlying issue requires it.
Closure
Close explicitly: state that the operation has ended, stop the agreed cues, complete or release the obligation and archive the record. A useful closing note states what changed, what did not and what remains uncertain.
